Attention for DFA Applicants: (New Requirement)

For people who are going to use a representative to process and collect your DFA authentication (Red Ribbon), please be aware that a new requirement is needed aside from an authorization letter and that is a SPA (Special Power of Attorney).

This was just implemented last Monday (March 21, 2016). This is another hassle for people applying abroad and their families. Additional time to have it notarized by a Lawyer and expenses for  our poor ofw applicants.

Below is the letter posted inside the DFA main office walls (Near MOA)…

So the new list:

1. Government issued ID (Representative)
2. Notarized SPA (Special Power of Attorney
3. Copy of passport or ID with signature of owner

Note:

There are a lot of Lawyer offices at the back of DFA to get your Notarized SPA but it is a long walk from the area and it is very difficult to find if your not familiar in the area. Don't forget to ask to vendors/people in the area. Grab a taxi if you can avail one - don't be cheap.

Or another option which I have done is to go to Pasay City Hall and have your notarized SPA (P100 by taxi - my meter last 21st of March 2016). Less hassle and the Lawyer Offices are much easier to find. I paid P200 for my SPA...
